The RO plants are delivered as compact units on steel skid completely piped and wired or completely assembled direct on the ship. We are supplying RO plants with energy recovery system to achieve power consumption between 4-4,5kWh/m3 produced water.

Kovar Water Treatment provides treatment units for swimming pools and Jacuzzi systems, designed to meet your requirements and USPHD rules.
Our custom designed units are automatic systems constructed as modules, assembled on steel skids, completely piped and wired, ready for operation. Only external piping and power supply tie-ins are needed.
The units include:
- Circulation pumps
- Massage pumps
- Air blowers
- Cartridge or sand filters
- Electric or steam heaters
- Internal piping in plastic or metal (CuNi)
- Valves and control valves
- Overflow tank (can also be separately delivered for external assembly)

Fresh water treatment systems provide disinfection and pH correction functions to prevent infection and diseases caused by unsuitable water. These complex systems are vital to ensure the ceanliness and quality of water to the end-user.

Our automatic treatment/dosing units are used for:
- Bunker water
- Mineralized / produced water

The units are automatic systems constructed and built as modules assembled on steel skids, completely piped and wired, ready for operation. Only external piping and power supply tie-ins are necessary.
Standard units consist of:
- Flow meters MID type
- pH correction/chemical dosing tank with dosing pump and accessories
- Chlorination/chemical dosing tank with of dosing pump and accessories
- Sensor housing for pH and CL sensors
- Control cabinet for automatic operation (with integrated flow monitor, pH and CL controllers)
- Steel skid for assembly of the dosing units, control cabinet and sensor housing
Service system units are equipped also with a second chlorination dosing unit as a stand-by along with a de-chlorination dosing unit.
We also specialize in the conversion of existing systems and also modifying systems from battery acid to the use of carbon dioxide (CO2) dosing, utilizing beverage CO2 bottles.
The following applications of dosing systems are also available:
- Corrosion inhibitors on silicate base
- Sodium carbonate
- Sodium hydroxide
The water produced by means of evaporators (distillate) or R.O. plants (permeate) lacks minerals and is not suitable for use. Due to low pH and dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) levels, it is very corrosive to metals (such as pipes, heater, armature, etc.). For these reasons reasons it is necessary to neutralize/de-acidify the produced water while simultaneously rising the pH value into the alkaline area.
The neutralization process is performed by passing the produced water through filters, which are filled with a CaCO3 re-hardening material such as Akdolit Hydro-Calcit and Akdolit Hydro-Carbonat (Juraperle-limestone).
Our filters have a capacity from 25m?/day to 800m3/day.
- Simple de-acidification / pH adjustment filter with or without piping
- Mineralizing filter where re-hardening levels can be adjusted by means of a catalyst (such as CO2 or battery acid)
The filters are constructed of:
- Black steel with food-grade inside coatings
- Stainless steel 316Ti
- Black steel with inner rubber liners at food-grade quality levels (used for filters where catalyst is added)
The complete mineralizing system is designed for automatic operation. By means of addeing a catalyst, the hardness can be adjusted to the desired value and monitored with a titrator.
This system consist of:
- Mineralizing filters, rubber-lined inside
- On-line titrator (hardness measuring device with display in ?GH or mg/l CaCO3)
- Flow meter
- Carbon dioxide CO2 regulating valve for adjustments of hardness
- Carbon dioxide CO2 regulating valve for pH correction downstream of filter, to keep the level max. at 7,8pH to guarantee efficiency of chlorine
- Battery acid dosing unit (for hardness regulation and pH correction) instead of CO2 injection
- Chlorine disinfection unit
- Control cabinet (PLC controlled)
Uncomfortable and unsightly problems occur when water is too hard, such as mineral scaling on hardware and its effects on skin and hair. The appropriate hardness of end-user water is vital for comfort.
Our systems include the following:
Softening plants
- Automatic single or double softening plants for cold and warm water, up to 30m3/h flow
- The unit can be supplied on a Steel skid and includes piping, fine filters and a back flow preventer. A control cabinet is cabled with the plant.
- The unit is controlled via a flow meter or an on-line hardness device with automatic blending armatures for soft water
Softening filters
- Simple softening filters with resin material, include external piping and valves
- When the regeneration of resin is needed, the caustic soda is inserted and the valves are appropriately adjusted.
- Capacity up to 5m?/h.
